For Fun.Food.Focus founder and principal Helen Paige, the launch of Fun.Food.Focus was a natural progression; the culmination of her two absorbing and life long passions: learning, and the love of food.
Helen has a passion for 'learning'. There is so much to know! As such Helen has spent many years as a 'life long' learner; studied and completed a number of university and related courses, taught and lectured at universities in Australia and internationally and run numerous workshops on a variety of corporate topics.
Helen has extensive experience in teaching and implementing business-related topics such as team building across a number of large public and private sector agencies, leadership skills, time management, change and organisational management, business ethics, creativity, human resource management, and is an expert in the area of knowledge harvesting and facilitating World Knowledge Cafes, through her consulting business AKN.
Helen is also one of the original 'foodies' – she enjoys every element of the buying and preparation, the serving and the eating of food.
With a long history in the food-related business, Helen has attended so many cooking classes around Australia she can't remember them all! She has also attended cooking schools in New Orleans and Umbria, Italy, the Ritz Cordon Bleu, Paris, a private class in New York City with a French chef, and Portugal, and 'tasted' her way around Australia, Japan, India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Hong Kong, England, Italy, Germany, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain and various parts of America, when undertaking extensive travel. Helen has also attended numerous cooking schools locally, in order to keep her cooking skills 'up to date'.
Helen has also had lots of 'hands on' experience in the food industry – running her own successful catering business The Gracious Table and being one of the original cooks for Copper Pot Pate, making crepes for Sarah's Vegetarian Restaurant and exotic cakes for up-market cafes. She has taught basic cooking techniques to young women from disadvantaged backgrounds and was instrumental in the setting up of children's cooking classes at the fabulous Adelaide Showground Farmers Market.
Well known and recognised for her entrepreneurial flare, Helen is also a Conventions Adelaide Ambassador. The role of the Ambassador is to unearth, expand and promote opportunities for Conventions Adelaide and assist in the development of national and international recognition of the business event sector in South Australia.
